🍷 Primitivo – Vintage 2022
- ✔️ Origin: 1-acre Doebler Vineyard, Mattawa, WA
- ✔️ AKA: Zinfandel
- ✔️ Style: Fruit-forward, spicy, and full-bodied
- ✔️ Reputation: Longtime tasting room favorite
A fan favorite since 2012, this bold and juicy Washington State Primitivo is all about lush fruit, spice, and that signature plush mouthfeel that keeps people coming back for more.
The nose leads with ripe blackberry, dark cherry, and raspberry jam. On the palate, it’s brambly berries, plum compote, and blackcurrant layered with subtle spice, mocha, and a long, supple finish. Tannins are present but polished, giving the wine structure without any bite.
Pair it with wood-fired pizza, pork tonkatsu, moo shu pork, or roasted sweet potatoes. Or just pour a glass and enjoy it all on its own — it’s ready to drink now.
🌱 Vineyard Notes
The fruit comes from the 1-acre Doebler Vineyard in the foothills of Saddle Mountain (Wahluke Slope AVA). The vineyard’s wind-blown sandy topsoil ensures excellent drainage and even ripening, while surrounding basalt cliffs trap heat — allowing for full, early ripening. Cool nights help retain acidity and balance.
“Jammy, plush, and dangerously drinkable — Primitivo, Hard Row style.”
