>>>> Lake Chelan AVA grapes >>>> 100% estate Malbec >>>>Full-bodied, rich, dark fruit >>>>Limited production release
A gorgeously aromatic wine that takes time to open up. Savory minerals, licorice and herbs coat the palate and loaded with Lake Chelan character. Slightly floral and bright but with smooth, herbal and spicy flavors. A deep, rustic red wine that pairs with grilled meat.
19/20 Points. Rand Sealey. Reveiw of Washington Wines. "This Malbec is comprised of 50% North Shore (Glacial Gravels) and 50% South Shore (Farmer John Vineyard). It displays a deep purplish ruby color and enticing aromas of blackberry, blueberry, cherry and currant with scents of black roses, mulberry, sage, fennel, violets and incense. On the palate, the wine brims with black and blue fruits that are infused with black licorice, bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee beans and minerals. The wine intensifies on the back with sensations of pressed fruits, roasted nuts, kirsch and cassis liqueurs and blueberry preserves followed by deliciously ripe moderate alcohol (13.8%) sweetish tannin finish. A top notch Malbec"

VINEYARDS
Located on the North Shore of Lake Chelan, our Glacial Gravels vineyard is situated at 1250’ elevation, on a southwest facing slope. The soils consist of well-drained gravel interspersed with large stones and small boulders. Farmer Jon Vineyard is on the south shore of Lake Chelan and is facing east, planted in rough terrain at 1375’.
The “lake effect” moderates temperatures year round providing protection from freezes and the cooler climate allows for longer hang time allowing grapes to gradually ripen and develop flavors. We farm our estate vineyard using organic and sustainable methods and we are the first vineyard in North Central Washington certified Salmon Safe and LIVE sustainable. Grapes are cropped at 2.5 – 3 tons per acre.
