Juicy and energetic with delicate red cherry and red berry
flavors this harmonious wine finishes with fine-grained
tannins and good supple flavor intensity.
2011 was a very cool growing season. Cools nights in the weeks leading up to harvest allowed us to preserve acidity in this wine so this year's Cab Franc is not as dense as those of 2008 and 2009 but it is
equally juicy and balanced As in 2010, the wine shows red fruit flavors--not to
mention good floral lift--that adds another dimension of freshness to the
blacker fruits that characterize the hotter years.

"Deep ruby colored, it emits asultry, smoky nose of blackberry, black cherry, black plum, mulberry, anise, sandalwood, tobacco, anise and smoldering incense. On the palate, the medium-full bodied dark fruit flavors are redolent ofchocolate-covered cherries, licorice, dark roasted coffee beans andglacial minerals. The back picks up noted of roasted berries and nuts, dried cherries, scorched earth, and glacial minerals, followed byjudicious oak (50% new) on a lingering, savory, slightly nutted moderatetannin and acid finish.
